MVGRS Meeting Times
Meetings are held on the second Sunday of each month except for the months of May and December. The May meeting is the third Sunday and the December meeting is the second Saturday of the month. Unless otherwise noted, all meetings start at 2:30. You are welcome to gather at 2:00 to visit and/or view the host’s railroad. When we meet outside you should bring a folding chair and you are encouraged to bring a refreshment item to share. The host provides the beverages. Meetings last approximately 2 hours.
MVGRS Meeting Format
Each meeting generally follows the pattern of a welcome by the president, introduction of new members and guests and announcements. There is a break for refreshments which is usually followed by a presentation on some facet of garden railway or general railroad interest. After the program, there is a drawing for door prizes which consists of items donated by members. At the end, there is a “show and tell” where members are encouraged to bring their latest project or acquisition to show to the members, or to tell about something of interest to the group.
MVGRS Meeting Locations
Meetings from October to March are held at Aley United Methodist Church 4143 Kemp Road, Beavercreek. The April meeting is the annual banquet and the location varies over the years. From May to September, we meet at members’ homes. If you are interested in attending a meeting, call or email the president for the current information on meeting locations and directions.
